I assume that you mean Business when mentioning Company? If so please use Manager jargon then support will be easier as we speak the same “language”.

You could try with batch processes but notice only importing the Inventory item names make sense because the amounts, etc. are part of purchases and sales made in the original business and can not be copied over.

  1. First of all make a backup of each business and keep them safe.
  2. You could then import these and use a test businesses by renaming each once imported and opened.
  3. Open the business you want to copy the Inventory item names from, select the inventory items tab, below the data-list click on batch processes and select Batch Update. Select all and copy to clipboard (look in guides if not knowing how to do batch processes). Paste in spreadsheet like Excel. Delete all columns except ItemCode and ItemName. Select all the remaining data in the spreadsheet and click Copy.
  4. Open the business you want the Inventory items names copied to. Open the inventory items tab and select Batch Processes but now Batch Create. Paste the data and confirm subsequent screens. The names will now have been copied.

If successful then repeat this with the actual businesses and delete the test businesses.

Does the new manager business exist yet?
If not

  • make a copy of the old business via backup & restore then delete the things you don’t want
  • However Manager is designed to be a perpetual accounting system so why are you creating a new business the same as the old?
