Invalid Data File and Invalid File Format

That’s clearly a dangerous position to be in.
I trust all who read this thread endeavour to never be in that situation again. Three independent copies is the minimum.

@Patch @lubos @sharpdrivetek Yes I tend to agree totally. The only problem was that my Hard Drive crashed and I was under the impression that the copy on my backup drive would work. I was totally surprised when @lubos informed me that there is no info inside this file. In future I will test it before backing up and I will then as you suggested another two copies renaming them 1 and 2. I surely hope that other users will read this post and learn from it as well. After all this is what this forum is about. The other thing is With my stupidity I might have wasted a lot of unnecessary time with people trying to assist me.

Why rename them? You should have a backup copy on 3 different storage media, e.g. a USB stick, a cloud drive and an external HDD.
