I tried to make a journal entry to pay VAT but Tax payable
not showing on the journal entry filter

i checked the tree it is there

Again, please search the guides and the forum before starting a new topic as most of the questions have already been answered. In this case the built-in Tax payable account is a so-called placeholder account and you’ll have to create a new one to be able to use it.
