I work a year with Manager now and have my first closing. I have found some old topics already, but it is not completely what I’m looking for. Also the urls to guides appear to be broken, so not helping.
I want to do a financial year closing. Where also I open a new balance year and my old transactions are posted to my result book year.
When I show my summary as of 01-01-2018 my p&l is ‘emptied’, but my balance is not highered with the 91euro’s I expected. My balance stayed the same. Can somebody help me closing my books for 2017 properly? And is it possible to do after transactions for 2018 are given in (as with other big programs, like AX2012 or NAV)? Or is it better to first close 2017 in Manager and then start 2018?
Thank you for your quick help.
To change from 2017 year to 2018 year you don’t need to put in any balances.
Changing your Set Period dates from 01/01/2017 - 31/12/2017 to 01/01/2018 - 01/12/2018 is all you need to do.
Manager is a continuous database, so you just select your required reporting dates (set period) and Manager adjusts reporting to suit those dates.
NOTE: you don’t change Settings > Starting Date when going to a new year, in case you are.
My apologies. I made a mistake in reading. The 91 euros are in Balance, but I expected to have them in a different account… hihi.
they are in equity and not in result posting year… Where I normally should expect them as a bookkeeper.
It sounds like you are trying to link to Guides from old forum topics. Those links are often out of date, especially since the Guides structure has changed several times over the last year. The best practice is to either link from the Guides web page or from the Learn How To links within the program. These are always up to date.
