Delivery Note as per Indian GST norms to generate eWay bill

Dear Team,
Greetings of the day, one of my client was reporting the delivery Note which we generate from existing system without any Custom fields is not as per the Indian GST norms to generate eWay bill.

They want to display item, Qty, Rate, Amount, total and tax split in the delivery note also.

Is anyone from India experienced it and any method to overcome in manager.

Sample format which I found online.

  • Be specific. Do not just tell us a feature does not work. Explain what you have done and why you think there is an issue. If your question relates to an apparent software problem (rather than an accounting topic), tell us your operating system (including the version), Manager edition (desktop, server, or cloud), and exactly what you think is wrong. If possible, post screen shots illustrating the problem. If your question is related to custom themes or custom reports, always post the code or report definition you have developed and the results it produces. Do not simply post a picture of something you want and ask other users to tell you how to achieve it.

Hi @eko ,
Thanks for sharing forum rules,
First I was trying to create Deliver Note from CopyTo function from sales invoice. It copied the exact description and qty which is in Sales Invoice.

Since by default the Delivery Note doesn’t have the fields of Sales Invoice like ( Rate, Total, Tax ) tried to create custom field with same names assuming when I try CopyTo function same name fields will get copied. But it didn’t happen.

Then to get the total and gst value I tried to get it value from variables using custom fields it didn’t worked.

I am using server edition.

It is most unusual to put financial information on a Delivery Note

A Delivery Note is used to track the physical movement of goods from the business to the customer. A delivery Note has no financial purpose and does not record the movement of monies to or from the business

All the financial details are recorded in the Sales Invoice

I do agree and understand this, Delivery Note has nothing to do with financials and it helps to manage inventories and stock moments. And Delivery Note is also linked / display the reference number of sales invoice.
