What is the source of this bank balance? Is is the bank or is it Manager?
In case it is Manager, please share a screenshot showing the breacrumbs (address & title) of the screen you are getting this balance from.
It is not a bug. This is how it is supposed to work.
Your bookkeeping accounts should always present it how it is according to your situation - not as it is in your banks books, in the same way that the bank will show a deposit by you as a credit but in your books it will be a debit.
Just as I suspected you were using Actual balance
,
Actual balance is your “book balance” or more precisely “actually available balance” since you cannot overdraw this balance even if the cheques weren’t cleared.
If you want to view your bank balance from within Manager, you should instead drill down to Cleared balance
column which will show the bank transactions when they get cleared.
If you don’t have the column Cleared balance
visible, you can go to Bank and Cash Accounts > Edit Columns and make it visible from here.
This is the thing I also wonder. Cleared balance is just the same with the actual one.
This is what I suspected as well but it kinda defeats the purpose of having a “clearing” feature if at the moment of the transaction, the balance also updates regardless of the clearing date.
I’m aware that this is kinda normal and this is also the very reason there’s a bank recon. But then again, I’m just wondering why is still there a “clearing” option.

But if you look at the Cleared balance
on 6/10/2025 it’s going to show a difference of 300,000 relating to this transaction:
Today is 6-17 and I created a receipt transaction with a clearing date on 6-20 with 150k amount. The actual and cleared balance reflected 170k (20k+150k).
So basically, i’m wondering why would the system add a transaction to my cleared balance even if the clearing date is still in the future.
It ignores the actual date in the cleared date box - eirher it is cleared or not
Cleared balance
and Actual balance
will both show All transactions. The difference is in the detail. This is true for basically every tab in Manager, they are not periodic reports, they are full listings of All entries.
I previously requested that you drill down your Cleared balance
and you didn’t do that, so please indulge me here.

columnI get what you mean. It definitely has a summary of the transactions and the balance as of a particular date. However, would it be possible to have it as the outright balance in the bank & cash accounts tab instead of clicking the actual figures to check the various transactions?
For that, you need to not clear transactions on future dates. This way your cleared balance will not show transactions not yet cleared.
Back to your example, remove the cleared date from the transaction, and you will see the result you expect in Bank and Cash Accounts tab.
