Hi, where are the attachments located in my system? I have tried to go through search option but couldn’t find anything.
They are stored in the database
Where’s the database & how can I extract those attachments individualy?
That depends on which edition you are using and which version, as well as whether you have changed the default setup.
Latest version 24.9.7.1838
And which Edition? i.e. Desktop, Server, Cloud, and if Desktop or Server which Operating system. Please note the guides at FAQ - Manager Forum specifically:
Be specific. Do not just tell us a feature does not work. Explain what you have done and why you think there is an issue. If your question relates to an apparent software problem (rather than an accounting topic), tell us your operating system (including the version), Manager edition (desktop, server, or cloud), and exactly what you think is wrong. If possible, post screen shots illustrating the problem.
Version: 24.9.17.1854
Windows: 11
Desktop Version
Laptop Dell Vostro 3520
I want to know where my attachments are stored exactly E.g C: Programfiles/Manger.io/attachments
Attachments are stored as data in your database, not as files that you can find in a directory.
Since, I’m facing issue in viewing the attachments as mentioned HERE. I thought that I could access them from my system directly but seems like this is not possible.
This is indeed impossible.
Presumably the attachments were stored somewhere before you attached them to a transaction in Manager
Manager does not delete the originals but copies them to its database.
The originals should be available wherever you got them from in their original form, unless you deleted them yourself
You should not forget that you upload the attachments to Manager, so you could consider having a folder to which you save all that you are going to upload to Manager.
This is one of the manager’s features that I used to use. I attach Purchase Orders with sale orders so it’s very easy to identify by clients & details, instant download etc.
Now this will increase the workload like the old days.
Please explain why that would be the case. Usually whatever gets uploaded would be from folders that are organized by your business such as a receipts folder. Manager is not a document management system. Our businesses actually use an open source DMS. There are several good ones available on softaculous (often part of cpanel-webhosting), and also even more advanced and secure that you can install on your own server. This forum is about Manager so I will not provide further details about this.
This in itself shows why you should save to and upload from a well organized folder structure.
Manager is a multi-purpose software, at least this was the perception in my mind until now. If this is not the case then any feature than accounting will not align with your vision.
Thank you for clarifying, I will not use Manager to store documents as attachments, just like I don’t use Manager for Emails.
No Manager is an accounting application see: https://www.manager.io/
Okay, thanks. You may close the thread.
