Is it possible to add a recurring transaction for the amortization and depreciation?
This will help us not forget the transaction. and to make it semi-automated.

Yes, the idea list is long. The number will come in time.
How often do users post depreciation entries ?
I do it once a year as part of closing off the accounts.
I take previous year’s transaction, clone it and make adjustments as required.
Not convinced that having a recurrent transaction would make that any simpler

I think it’s different here.
I am using the application for the Investment Funds, we do the valuation and financials twice a year. So, the auditor requests that depreciation and amortization be calculated monthly to determine the NAV for investors.
this why we are looking for this function.

I too prefer to do it this way, however, when I am dealing with Management of clients especially when they have investors, it never that easy.
In their minds, daily closing and aggressive accruals is better information – they think.
But all philosophical arguments aside, the fact remains that a sizeable proportion of businesses prefer interim depreciation and I believe that Manager should be able to cater for those.
What makes this issue more pressing is that recurring straight line depreciation used to be possible using Recurring Journal Entries but now it isn’t.
