Can we make the advanced queries in the purchase invoice and sales invoice to be by line as the current view is the total of the invoices
Meaning to add the line details
as i tried to make it by custom reports and it is not generating the custom field i made on the item lines

yes i did so but it became 4 lines instead of 2 lines as per original invoice
The other 2 lines show tax amounts.
Yes what if we make the tax amount to became in the same line with Qty like the invoice
its only idea if done in the system itself but i can filter it on excel anyway

This was an idea that I have been contemplating for a while, since Transactions – the alternative to Lines– does not capture any transaction specific fields and custom fields, which could be necessary for some reports.
I didn’t place this under ideas since there seems to be a lot of ideas at the moment, which are not a priority for development – at least not at the moment what with the electronic invoicing taking precedence.
Anyway, I will place this under ideas for now, however, that doesn’t mean that it will be implemented any time soon.

@Ealfardan when we uncheck the tax amount from edit column still the tax value showing.
This will be a solution to your case too. It seems like a common issue that needs to be handled before fully transitioning away from Custom Reports
I think what needs to be done here is making lines more resemble lines as they are typed in or viewed on invoice, not individual general ledger transactions.
