Adding Digital Prints in Inventory

Hello there!

I have just started to introduce digital prints into my webstore for customers to order etc. My question is, if you are making a product from scratch and not ordering inventory in from a supplier (as in you make it from no materials eg only your time and computer to create it), how do you add it to the inventory so it won’t show in ‘back order’ for any customers that order it? (so it will also show in profit margin summaries too?)

Anyone that has dealt with this type of product with their business or even the admin giving me some tips to solve this would be awesome.

Love the desktop version of the software (BIG thanks for the admin team and the creators of it). Really helps with small businesses and helping costs as low at possible.

Regards,
Michelle

You could create it under Setting - Non Inventory Item and tick the “This item can be sold”

I would handle these prints as non-inventory items. See this Guide: Create non-inventory items | Manager. You can set up pricing, terminology, tax codes, etc. But since you won’t be ordering them from suppliers, counting them on the shelf, etc., there is no need to have them as inventory, which in accounting terms refers to goods held for sale or production.

A digital print, sent electronically, is more like a service, where the value is added only as the item (service, print, or whatever) is created and sold.
