Hello esteemed community,
is there any way to make the general ledger accounts total the amounts of the detail accounts they contain when generating the General Ledger Summary in the reports section?
I am asking this because the legislation in my country requires filling out physical accounting books and I must put the total sum of a general ledger account at a specific level.
I’m showing a reference image
Hello @Cristian_Lopez,
I’m not familiar with your contry’s regulation, but I know that trial balance is an audit report - which is nowadays used in spreadsheets.
This is why most users expect to have no subtotals, since these would interfere with spreadsheet calculations.
Alternatively, you can stitch together a Balance Sheet and Profit and Loss report and these will achieve the result you need with minimal effort.
I understand and it is also useful to me as you explain it, however it would also be good to have an option where I can choose whether or not to add the subtotals in this type of reports, since this report should be printed and left as documentary evidence of the sums at the general ledger account level.
I very much understand the suggestion you make to me, I understand and I really like the ease and practicality when extracting the information and working it in Excel, but these reports could be required in a government Tax audit and they could require seeing it printed directly from the system and not from Excel due to the idea they have of avoiding any numerical manipulation when presenting the report.
That is my doubt and interest.
