I haven;t seen any mention of the new way that starting balances are recorded. Sometime recently, starting balances moved from individual items for each line balance sheet item to a single journal entry. Could somebody explain the new process?
How are starting balances created?
Are all starting balances automatically consolidated into one entry?
Can the starting journal entry be broken into multiple entries?
Search the forum. The developer described the process just a few days ago.

I have searched for “starting balances” and similar wording and cannot find any recent reference. I also checked the guides to no avail.

When you search, always search titles and posts, not just titles. The latter seldom works, because many users have no idea what their problem is when they post. If they did, most posts would be unnecessary.
