Phone/internet bills shared for business and personal use

The director uses the phone/internet for both personal and business purposes. However, he pays for these bills from the company’s business account. How could he split these bills so that part of it can be counted as money paid back towards director’s loan and the other part comes from the business account?
Thanks a lot in advance for the help

Spend Money from a cash account. Break the payment into two line items. Allocate the portion for business use to an expense account, such as Telephone or Utilities, depending on your chart of accounts. Allocate the rest to the Director's loan account, which should be a liability account. If that account was set up properly, the Spend Money transaction will debit it, reducing its balance.
