PDF attachments redirect to Businesses page

PDF attachments redirect to Businesses page

I’m seeing an issue with PDF attachments in Manager Desktop.

I was originally on version 26.7.23.3657, then updated to the latest available version, but the issue still persists.

I’ve tested this in both Safari and Google Chrome, with the same result.

What happens:

  1. I upload a fresh PDF attachment.

  2. It opens normally for a few minutes.

  3. After some time, clicking the same attachment no longer opens the PDF.

  4. Instead, Manager redirects me back to the Businesses page.

The attachment URL itself does not change. The exact same view-attachment URL works immediately after upload, then later redirects to the Businesses page.

Since this happens in both Safari and Chrome, and also happens with newly uploaded PDFs after a short period of time, it doesn’t seem to be a browser-specific issue.

Has anyone else seen this recently, or is this a known bug?

Hello @rishikesh,

Welcome to the forum.

I couldn’t reproduce your issue, however, I think it has to do with the fact that the behavior of click on pdf attachments changed.

Previously, you could view them online but now it downloads the file immediately.

It looks like in your case, Manager site doesn’t have the permissions to download the file, and on this failure, it redirects to Summary.

@Ealfardan Thanks a lot!

I just checked my macOS settings and Manager already has Full Disk Access, so that doesn’t seem to be the issue. I also checked Safari and Chrome for download/permission restrictions and couldn’t find anything blocking it.

Here’s a screen recording showing the issue:

I’ve also attached a screenshot of the macOS permissions for Manager.io.

One additional detail that may help reproduce it: if I upload a new PDF attachment, it opens/downloads correctly at first. After a few minutes, clicking that same attachment redirects me back to the Businesses page. The view-attachment URL itself is unchanged.

So the issue seems to happen after the attachment has been there for a short period, rather than being a permanent browser or filesystem permission problem.

Please let me know if there are any logs or diagnostics I can provide that would help track this down.

I will place this under bugs
