Negative amounts in tax transactions

I have made the above journal entry for a purchase. When I get the tax transaction report I see that the amount of the purchase is entered as a negative amount in sales. Why does this happen?

Thank you very much

Because you have said so

In your journal entry you have selected “for tax purposes, this is sale or sale adjustment”

Sometimes you have to read the transactions clearly

Thank you very much!!! Observeness is always very important!! :upside_down_face:

@eperion, you should not enter purchases with journal entries. They should be entered with purchase invoices or payments, depending on whether you are purchasing on credit.

See guides https://www.manager.io/guides/9820 more specifically and as pointed out by @Tut:

In Manager, most transactions are entered in other functional tabs, thereby automating many decisions about account posting and reducing errors. So journal entries are relatively few.

There is in any case a problem which causes the negative amount because you basically move a liability, i.e. Supplier Invoice creates an “accounts payable” in the balance sheet, see https://www.manager.io/guides/7189 and moves it to an Asset in the Balance sheet.

You should just make a Payment against the Invoice of the Asset.
