I’m using Manager In Lebanon and the companies here use multiple exchange rates for the same currency.
Example 1USD = 1,500 LBP in some companies, and others use 1USD = 1507.5 LBP
Is there a way I can choose which exchange rate I want to use for one currency for each transaction? If not, any suggestions?
Why do you think you need something like this? Can you give an example of transaction you need to record and have trouble recording it?
From accounting point of view, there is only one exchange rate. Can’t be two. It shouldn’t be your concern what exchange rate other companies are using.
Yes, you’re right. There should only be one exchange rate for all organisations. In Lebanon we use two currencies. LBP and USD. And a lot of the registered companies use 1USD = 1,507.5 LBP, others use 1USD = 1,515 LBP, and other suppliers simply use the “standard” which is 1USD = 1,500 LBP.
The problem I’m having is that I cannot input the details for an invoice I receive as is into the purchase invoice in Manager. if I assign one exchange rate in Manager and they are using another the totals will differ. So I have to input it in one line with the total the supplier provides me with.
When you are entering purchase invoice into Manager, you don’t have to enter exchange rate anywhere. The purchase invoice will be denominated in its currency (LBP or USD). So not sure why totals should differ. Try to post some screenshot of supplier invoice you are entering.
