Why am I being offered an update (26.18.2) to Manager that is older (according to the update procedure - “A newer version of Manager is already installed. To run, click Launch”) than the version (26.18.14) already installed?
I show 26.8.14 on my PC. What is the best way to get the latest version?
it’s strange, I have downloaded the package twice with 2 different ways, but when I try to install, it gives me 26.8.1.3 and not 26.8.18.2?
Have @lubos removed the latest package?
Remove the existing application and install the new one.
When you click on the Windows download, it downloads version 26.8.1.3 although the web pages say 26.8.18.2
I wouldn’t delete your existing version - I suspect that the download package is incorrect
I always update to newer version without uninstall the old one. Will this create bugs like data corrupted (I used sqlite to restore) or missing data ? And I always copy & paste my manager data file directly from 1 folder to another instead of using Backup, will this affects the data such as missing or corruption?
No, copying the Manager datafile to another is one way of making a backup
Using the backup facility in Manager adds the date of the backup to the file name so that you can distinguish between different backups
Copying the file, using copy and paste for example, does not do this and will over-write any file with the same name
It is up to you to define your backup strategy and to decide how many backup copies to keep
It is August 21, 2026, 4:43AM EDT in the US. My current version shows 26.8.14.0. The download page shows 26.8.21.1 as being available for download. When I do so I get the message “A newer version of Manager is already installed. To run, click Launch.”. It would appear that you do have a problem that needs to be addressed.
Same basic problem here - My current version shows 26.8.14.0 (according to About/Version within Manager). The initial download page shows 26.8.21.1 as being available for download. When I do the download, It shows 26.8.2.5 as already installed and I get the message “A newer version of Manager is already installed. To run, click Launch.” as well as two choices - Reinstall or Launch. So, multiple sources of confusion. Please advise. Thank you.
As of 8/22/26, the problem appears to be fixed. 26.8.22 installed successfully.
