In the latest version (25.10.12.2966) I made it so extensions show nearly full-screen by default (small offset at the start of viewport where user can click to close the extension).
Also, I think I will phase out Placement field altogether and we will have just Name / URL under extensions to simplify setup. This means we need global space for users to access these extensions.
For now, I’ve put this place at the end of breadcrumb (there is puzzle icon now).
I really like this change.
The Extension screen is now larger, and the Extension button has been moved to the dropdown menu.
Hopefully, in the next step, we can remove the Extension button card at the bottom. So the interface stays clean and compact.
It seems that Inline Extensions have been removed. Previously, a user asked me how to utilize Inline Extensions, and we may receive complaints from users who were already relying on them.
Inline Extensions are very efficient for small tasks without the need to host anything externally. I believe they should be retained. Unless Script Extensions can be brought back from the obsolete features list and serve as a proper replacement for Inline Extensions.
The reason I made it so it sticks to the right side of the screen (left side in RTL mode) is so scrollbar for main app and scrollbar for the extension is working exactly the same.
Perhaps the extension should quickly slide out from the right side of screen which would make it more intuitive. Let me experiment with it.
