Custom reports - can you group by Income and Expenses?

Im making a custom income and expense report for a division so we can work out our break even point including for the full cost of inventory. Is it possible with a custom report to create groupings by Income and Expenses? I can’t see to find the related field under ‘group by’. In chart of accounts the Income and Expense headers are called ‘groups’.

When generating reports, you have the option to create comparative reports. You can select divisions for the comparative columns.

Hi. Thanks for responding. The standard P&L isnt suitable so thats why im creating a custom report. Seems like grouping by the high level categories isnt possible?
