Forum members cannot edit their usernames. If you were to create a new account, the forum software might reject you, because it has the ability to detect multiple users from the same IP address. (That is to prevent spamming and deceptive posting practices.)

Is there any way that mods can change usernames?
You should be able to change it yourself. Click on your avatar, then Preferences. You should see an edit icon for your user name. (You are posting on a 4-year-old topic. The forum software has changed considerably since then.)
If you cannot do it, I can change it for you. Send me a personal message telling me what you want the new username to be.
