while downloading there’s a new line called Activation Key. what is that about? [2017-10-22-07-38-02_001]

This is for new installations. If you are upgrading, Manager won’t require you to enter activation key. Activation key is a way for Manager to tell you downloaded it from https://www.manager.io . Desktop edition remains to be free and always will be.
