I tried installing Desktop on Linux mint 18 (should be the same as Ubuntu 16.04). The installation went ok, but nothing happens when I click on the icon in the menu. I can’t figure out what’s wrong.

There have been several threads indicating the need to update Mono. For example, this one might be helpful:

Check out [Install Mono on Linux | Mono](http://www.mono-project.com/docs/getting-started/install/linux/) Install Instructions: sudo apt-key adv --keyserver hkp://keyserver.ubuntu.com:80 --recv-keys 3FA7E0328081BFF6A14DA29AA6A19B38D3D831EF echo "deb http://download.mono-project.com/repo/debian wheezy main" | sudo tee /etc/apt/sources.list.d/mono-xamarin.list sudo apt-get update
