# Profit/Loss of a sales order

Hi, is there a way we can determine the profit and loss of a single sales order?

No.

First, a sales order is not a financial transaction, so there is no profit or loss. Sales orders have no financial impact on any account.

Second, profit and loss is a very broad concept and includes many things outside what is recorded by a single transaction. The idea would be largely meaningless, for example, for someone selling services.

This notion has been raised many times before in the forum. Search for those other discussions.
