PAYE credits

I have read quite a bit on this forum before posting this query. Where I operate tax payers are given a credit of 50% to be deducted from PAYE for any medical expenses they incur. Similarly there is a deduction for anybody over the age of 55 that is deducted from the PAYE due. My question is this; Can I enter a negative number into a deduction field on a payslip to account for this without causing an unintended problem. I do have relevant liablity accounts on my balance sheet. The figure will never be larger that the actual PAYE due by the individual otherwise it would be spread over several months

This should not cause you any problem. Just be sure you have set up a separate payslip deduction item for such transactions.

thank you
