Option “X” for erase the date

I just tried and indeed when hovering over it with my mouse it would show an X. Sorry @gxtsoft you are right with the observation. Fortunately @Ealfardan gave you some good options.

Here is a screen shot of Desktop Version 21.10.23, Windows. It does not show the cursor, which is hovering over the “calendar” icon to the right of the date.
