We have inventory kit Item for one of our product line. There is a type error while we made this Inventory Kit.
Now the consumption of inventory item is less than the actual. This is happening from last 3months.
Can someone help us how to correct the problem. If we edit the Inventory kit will it reflect the past entries. How to get this done.
It’s complicated to simulate your situation. So just try it. If past transactions are not corrected, make a journal entry to fix your inventory counts.
Seems all the past records changed as Inventory on Hand quantity reduced.
But this brought new worries to us. Some of inventory kits items we change the quantity of ingredient based on the current unit price. So we are worried if this will change all past records.
Any possibility to make it effective from particular date or other solution to tackle the problem.
The program already includes an approach to handle this. As @Joe91 told you, any change to an inventory kit requires a new kit. Outdated kits can be made inactive by editing their definition screens and checking the Inactive box. That preserves historical records and prevents accidental use of modified kits. New, modified inventory kits are quick to set up using the Clone button. This method also preserves the ability to reactivate a kit if prices of component inventory items change back.
I don’t believe you should expect any alternative approach to be introduced.
