Machine Operation Depreciation Cost Entry

Hello Everyone,

Would like to give a huge thanks to lubos and tut for their huge efforts to deliver this app into this amazing results and for listening and helping every user.

First i need to know how could i enter my new Laser cutting machine operating cost, since in every minute consumed i need to detect it and to be deducted and calculated in my expenses, although i have tried several solutions but at the end there was something wrong

Reasons

  • i need to enter a transaction expense for every order
  • i need to know how much did I consumed
  • i need to be ready when i will need to buy a new laser tube for example.
  • every order is already depreciating the machine tube.

At the end i need a way to see the consumption for the machine in my expenses sheet order by order.

Although i know the cost per minute for using this machine.

Best regards,
Thanks in advance

You could use Non-Inventory Item and Custom Report
Record the hours when entering sales transactions.
Then depreciate the machine, at the end of each reporting period, based on hours used.

Hello @AJD Thank you so much.

Your answer is the right and most suitable solution for my situation although I cannot put the laser Cutting as a separate column in a sales invoice “in my corporate” they need it to be combined with whatever the item in the inventory. so what i did is that i’ve created a non-inventory item with a 0 Purchase & Sales Pricr and then i have created a “Laser Machine” on my suppliers list and i will issue it with a purchase invoice for every future project separately with a 0 Zero amount but with adding the right time consumed “qty”, then by creating a custom report i will be able to calculate the time consumed without affecting the purchase amount or expenses values!

After like every 6 Months i will deduct for ex:”1000minute * 1$ = 1000$“ from my Fixed asset “Laser Machine” as an Operation Depreciation Costs.

So much Thanks AJD you Lighted up the idea and solved this situation!

That’s what I am expecting from you all, Perfect as Always!

Best Regards,
