Inbuilt Calculator

Added to the latest version (18.9.91)

Really like the new calculator. Thank you. Would it be possible to have a setting where I can set the amount of decimals? Sometimes it doesn’t add up and I have to adjust manually. Or maybe it’s a bug?

Only had it happen once with the amount not adding up…

Doesn’t add up to what?

I did a little test with a sales-invoice with no rounding.
As unit price I entered 12.115 + 12.115 + 12.115 which should result in unit-price 36.465 and this is the weird result:

That is strange, @Hennie. I have performed the same test on several transaction types. Every time, I get:

07%20AM

I’m using version 18.9.91. What version are you on?

Same as you 18.9.91 Preference number format: 123,456,789.00

Did you put dots to divide the hundreds?

To enter decimals, I enter a dot. The American notation.

I’ve tried this with different number formats (changed both before and after the entry), with and without base currency set, and even in both Dutch and English (though I did not expect that to have any impact). I always get the same, correct result.

To my surprise, with the number preference set to 123.456.789,00 I was able to enter the numbers as either 12.115 or 12,115 and Manager was smart enough to interpret both as the same number.

This is due to floating-point arithmetic.

The easiest way to test is 0.1 + 0.2 which would equal to 0.30000000000000004

Anyway, the latest version (18.9.93) should fix the vast majority of cases.

Others where faster to reply about the problem similar to mine. Hope the new update fixes it as @Lubos says
