Idea - Box that is divided between line items

It would be convenient, if there were a box on invoices, payments, etc. for amounts that need to be equally divided between the line items. For example, if my invoice has three line items, that are $10, $5, and $5, and I wanted freight of $6 to be allocated proportionally to the line items, I would enter it in this box, and it would add $3 to line 1., and $1.5 each to lines 2. and 3. It could also have an option to split it strictly based on number of lines.

I see, I hadn’t paid attention to that. Where does that go? Does it get netted against the invoice total? I tried it and the total displayed on the face of the invoice doesn’t seem to change

Only works with Inventory items. And in your screenshot you haven’t selected any item hust accounts.

But i think this option should not be limited to inventory items.

I don’t think that additional costs should be broken down on non-inventory items. This just obsecures the audit trail of costs without the benefit of valuation – which is the main reason we have that for Inventory items.

For general tracking of costs without using Inventory Items tab, you can use Projects tab or simply, just add a regular line with your additional costs.
