Desktop version. Somewhere between versions 17.3.3 and 21.1.21 the format changed and a specific name became optional. I find this inconvenient and would like to revert to the old format if possible. having the specific name as an option in the description field is awkward for me, as I use Manager to keep track of rent payments. Specific name for what? Please use the program’s terminology and illustrate with screen shot.
Are you describing receipt tab and payment tab being combined in the receipt & payment tab.
If so what exactly is the task you are no longer able to do?
Patch - yes. I prefer the old version of entering the payer/payee. I can do the tasks but don’t like the transaction column displayed in the cash accounts. the old format was easier for me.

First, you are seeing accumulated, incremental changes of literally thousands of updates.
Second, you should set up your tenants as customers. There will be many benefits.
Third, what information was shown before that isn’t shown now?
All information is shown but I dont need the transaction column in the cash accounts page.
It would be time-consuming to set up all past and present tenants as customers. With the old format I could start typing a name and it would appear in a drop-down menu. With the new format I have to select “other” to make this happen.
If you want to redesign the report, you will have to copy it to a spreadsheet and modify it there to your personal preferences.
That is the price of increased functionality. If you want, you could set the payer/payee option to Other under Form Defaults. Then, you would not have to make a choice before typing.
Ahh…Changing the form default will work for me. I can live with the accounts column. Thank you very much for your help.
