I have 2 businesses in our Manager business list. I also have 2 computers that access manager via shared dropbox files. I would like to prevent one of the businesses from appearing on the business list on the second computer.

You will not be able to do this. The list of businesses is governed by an index file in your applications data folder. If you point both Manager installations to the same applications data folder, they will both use the same index file and show the same businesses. If you point them to different application data folders, you can control which businesses appear on each computer, but you will not be updating the same data files for the common business on the two computers.
The capability you want can easily be achieved, however, by subscribing to the cloud edition and creating restricted users for the different computers with different permissions.
