This bug may only occur on macOS.
When changing the application data folder and following instructions in this Guide, a System.InvalidOperationException error is thrown when navigating to the new application data folder from the Preferences page after moving files there from the old one:
If the program is closed and relaunched, the application data folder will have been successfully changed. But the message given to the user is that changing the application data path has failed.
