Error when copying a report from Manager to Excel: #Field!

I am using Manager desktop version v23.8.25.1002

There is one issue occurring with reports.

When I copy and paste a report, for example a profit and loss report, from Manger into Excel, I get the following error message in the amount column in Excel: #Field!

But in Manager the amounts appear correctly, and I can generate a correct PDF.

I am using Microsoft 365 version of Excel.

Can anyone help with this?

please check How to correct a #FIELD! error - Microsoft Support

To copy and paste a report you need to click on the Copy to clipboard button on top of the report view and paste into Excel.

Thank you, Eko.

I checked the #Field! error in Microsoft Support. It gives the reason:
“The referenced field is in a format Excel couldn’t read.”
But this was not an issue in previous versions of Manager.

I followed the procedure Copy to clipboard in Manger, and paste into Excel. But the #Field! error is showing.

The Income amounts do appear correctly in Excel, but it is the Expense amounts that show the #Field! error

Could there be something else in Manager?

I can not replicate your issue. Maybe create a test business, enable customers, suppliers, bank & cash and create in tabs at least one bank account. Create some payments and receipts and generate a profit and loss report. Use copy to and paste in excel.

Thanks for that. I tried your suggestion. Yes, it does work with a new test file.

But my own file with all my data has lost the functionality to copy and paste into Excel on version v23.8.25.1002.

It was working perfectly on version v.22.9.26.406

I realise the earlier version is almost a year old now. Is there anything that can be done to restore full compatibility with the current version? Or with future versions?

You need to save the file from Excel as comma separated values (see screenshot)

Manager has hundreds of version releases in a year and it is good practice to regularly update as functions are added and some will work differently but also better.

I appreciate your help.

Unfortunately, the same problem remains when saving as a .csv

Hopefully a future Manager version will resolve the issue for me.

Otherwise it I may need to start from scratch, and update more regularly in future.

Sorry but it is an issue with your Excel. Your dates, etc all had space delimiters. As mentioned you biggest problem is with some weird entries. It is not a Manager fault, you are advised to open your .csv file that you exported in a texteditor such as notepad and see if it looks like the one I prepared for you.
