The placement of the delete line item tool on the left side would make it more user-friendly, enabling a smooth and easy removal of line items. The current setup, where the delete button is on the far right, can be a bit inconvenient, requiring users to navigate the horizontal scroll bar. Additionally, when deciding to delete a line item, users typically focus on information in the account or item fields, making it unnecessary to go through all the other fields located at the extreme right of the screen before initiating the deletion process. This setup is a bit challenging, especially for users with smaller screens like mine.

I agree! Also the Copy Line button would be nice to have on the left too

Eventually there shouldn’t be horizontal scrollbar even if line item has many columns. The user interface should adapt to narrower screens.

I don’t think you can achieve this. What if the amount of data overflow the capacity of a screen to display it? (in a font size which remains viewable) For small font, a zoom facility is required. For even a moderate amount of data scrolling is needed.
A better solution is to make the display user configurable. User chooses which fields to show, in what order, and for that user, (s)he sees what they need to. We do it on big iron, and have done since the last century.
