# Discount in Amount in Invoice

How can I add discount in Amount other than %. Or Can I change the Total Amount if Discount is not available in Amount. Any idea?

Not sure if this helps I have an item called “Sales discount given” which I link to Income. I then simply add another line with the discount as a minus value. If tax is involved then I also select tax on the discount line.

`Discount %` column is available as a convenience feature so people don’t have to grab calculator if they know discount in %. If you already know the final discount amount, then just do exactly as @norfolkislandam has suggested which is perfectly valid solution.
