Create custom tables

Hi, brand new to Manager, like what I see so far.
I like the ability to add custom fields.

Q: is it possible to add custom tables?
Q: if yes, is it possible to link them to existing tables as children?

for example, I want to be able to specify payment options under a customer, but the customer may have 1 or many

thank you

What are you referring to as “tables?” Are you referring to a table in a theme, as in a method of coding? Provide an example, please.

For example, let’s say I click “Customers” on the left menu, define/edit a new customer record, but then I want a 1-to-many sub-table so I can add multiple payment options under that customer…

Or If I can’t add a sub table under the customer record, have a new table that I defined, with custom fields, available on the left hand main menu that has a linked field for customer…

I’m not familiar with the database terminology for this architecture - are the customer records stored in a “table”?

You can only create custom fields, not custom tables. I don’t really see how this feature would be useful. You can create custom field which can be a large textbox and put all information in there.

I concur with @lubos that the feature would have questionable benefit. You already have all payment options the program supports available for all customers. So why have a table of options for a specific customer?

The left navigation pane puts you into major functional modules of the program. The things you are suggesting just don’t line up with how the program operates. I suggest you spend a little time reading the Guides and experiment with a test company and see how the various modules work. As you gain an appreciation of the underlying philosophy and structure of the program I believe you’ll understand my comments.

ok thank you - I guess my topic should have been “Create Custom Objects”
I’m ok with your responses, there is a lot the program offers as-is, I was just wondering.

final question - I know there is a limit on displaying Custom Fields in the interface, but is there a limit to the number of Custom Fields that I can add to the Objects?

@LanceDenton there are no such limits
