Copy function in Forecast

As the Forecast P&L is a nice tool to have some expectations in the future.
I would like to have a funtion “copy” in to the Forecast ( new forcast) so difftent forecast of diffrent items can be made

Thanks in advance
Huib

Reports cannot be copied in Manager. Only transactions can be copied to other transactions. Reports can be cloned. And forecasts already can be.

@Tut
Mabey my question was notcompletely clear
Can we have a copy function in the lines at SETTING/FORECAST
Now you have to type line by line if you have different budgets in different years

Thanks
Huib

What difference does it make whether you start with a copy or a clone? Either way, if you have a different starting point for different years, you will need to enter the numbers. Clone a forecast and edit the numbers.

@Tut
Sorry to be difficult, but we seems to speak next to each other
a) i would like to have a copy function in the settings/forecast
( to copy the lines in the list of settings/forecats)

now you make or one or a long period of cost 2022 upto 20… cost no 1
and
2022/2023/2024 cost no 2
2023/2024 cost no 3
2024/2025 cost no 4

by copy i can have line 2024 cost no 4 and add 2025 cost no 4

and

b) to have a option of for divisions in the Forecast P&L => the lines in the setting/forecast would need a division section
with this option i will ony chose cost no 1 and cost no 4 to be presented in output 1
and cost no 2 and cost no 3 in output 2

now i have to use active / non actve for each line in settings/forecast

hope you understand my question
thanks

That is what a clone of the forecast in Settings will do. Have you tried it?

This would be accomplished in Reports, not Settings. Clone a forecast report and add a column for the additional year. Delete the column for the year you are dropping from that particular report. Create the new report.

Divisional accounting has been promised by the developer for all reports. Additional reports are being added slowly.

I have no idea what you mean by this. You cannot make lines inactive in a forecast setting. You can only make the entire forecast inactive.

At Settings / forecast you can set the line active / not active

You are mistaken, @HuibK. As I already told you, the Inactive checkbox applies to the entire forecast, not to a single line item. The only ways to deactivate a line item in a forecast definition is to enter zero for the Amount or delete the line by clicking the X that appears to its right if more than one line is added.

Maybe HuibK is creating a new forecast for every line item rather than adding additional lines?

Dear All
In the forcast i create several lines
several itmes for different years

this will create the following

thanks

@HuibK, these are all completely separate forecast definitions. As described in the Warning in the Guide, when you create a forecast report, all definitions are combined. While this might work for you now, you should understand that the forecast capability is brand new. It will probably evolve over time to more sophisticated behavior that could very well eliminate this characteristic.

@Tut
Noted, and as the forecast in the program is a very nice feature to show the (possible) future fiancial development to your self and others ( in my case 7 other owners with out any fiancial understanding)
fore this reason i am asking at possible options to develop other functions
thanks

@Tut
One more nice featture in the P&L forecast is the option to combine the budget with actuals without messing up the entries
With this i can make a prognose for the full present year by changing the budget figures with actual payments
If i have partial payments i leave the budget in place until the full payment is reached

Again for me the forecast is a nice feature
