How do I get rid of the “crossed out” wording on the attached screen shot (see the wording “Fixed Assets - Accumulated Depreciation”)
You cannot. That indicates the default name of an automatically created account. In your case, you have only changed capitalization and punctuation. But other users might change a belt-in account to something unrecognizable. Then, when they have a problem, they cannot figure out its source.
I completely agree with my friend Tut.
If this strike-through text bothers you like me, you can always create new control accounts and leave built-in accounts unused.
The crossed accounts text only appears in the Chart of Accounts not on the Summary page nor in reports
It needs to be done this way so it’s easy to see that it is actually built-in account and what is its purpose.
You can always create custom control accounts, link your fixed assets with custom control accounts. Then this built-in account won’t appear at all.
But this crossed-out text is only seen on chart of accounts. Nowhere else.
