Can't Post Deprecation on Windows 11 Desktop Version

Hi I have just updated to a new Windows 11 Computer and migrated my data. I just created a new Depreciation Report for June 2025 but when I try and post it basically closes the screen and has this weird error at the top of the page.

Version 25.6.12.2382

Welcome to the forum @Campbell_Docherty,

This looks like an untitled URL address.

Please navigate to Depreciation Entries tab and confirm that no entries were posted.

Hi Earlfardan. When it takes me to that page. The only option I have is to close the Tab. When I reopen Manager. The Depreciation is not posted. It all worked perfectly on my Windows 10 computer. Chrome is the default browser.

Thanks

Unfortunately, I can’t reproduce your issue, however, I’m going to place this in bugs but I need you to do the following:

  1. Share a full screenshot of this:
  1. Try to create a Depreciation Entry manually just to see if you can and share full screenshots of any errors you face

  2. Try to temorarely stop your antivirus live threat protection and test once more

  3. Check if there are any quarantine entries on Manager’s file directory or any entries on your device’s protection history

  4. Try to Backup the business and then Add Business > Import Business and see if persists

  5. Try to reproduce the issue from a newly created blank business and see if you experience the same problem

The reason why I’m asking you for an extensive list of tests is that since I can’t reproduce your issue on Windows 11, the issue appears to be specific to your device and there’s no traceback.

Therefore some troubleshooting needs to be done on your device in order to help the developer pinpoint the issue.

Hi I went into the previous months Depreciation entry and cloned it and then saved it. That works. I would then need to adjust some entries manually. Took a screenshot when I hovered over view of the Months report I wanted to post. Will do the other tests soon.

Hi Earlfardan

I found the problem. In Windows 10 You didn’t have to select which assets you wanted to post Depreciation for it automatically did the lot. In the Windows 11 Version There is a Check Box for all or you can select which assets you want to create deprecation for. I clicked all and it created the depreciation entry and then let me post it. So ideally it should either have a warning that you need to select at least one asset or have a message popup if you don’t select any so you don’t get this horrible screen. I am so happy I solved it.

I have checked the box and not paid any attention if there’s been any change in workflow

Anyway, I’m glad you found the issue and thank you for sharing the solution.

This will be the basis for a new idea
