Is there a way in Manager where we can remove and save the data for a particular year (or period) to another backup files and restore it back if required. Eg: separating 2020 accounts to a 2020.manager file and restoring it whenever we want to check any details.
The manager file size is increasing bit high, and it become a problem to keep few years in the same file. Please let me know if you already have a solution for this. How does other address this issue ?

What size is your Manager file?

What edition (Server, Cloud or Desktop)?

Large file sizes are not really a problem at all

There is no easy way to remove transactions from a file so you could create a copy and attempt to do this using Batch Delete and reenter opening balances but this is not recommened by anyone here

Sorry but that is insignificant, 100 years still only would be 600MB. Manager (like most) being a perpetual accounting application is not suited for annual accounting like most accounting software. For P&L part annual accounting is fine but for Balance sheet (what the business owns and owes) it is not.

6MB is small - I wouldn’t worry until you get to well over 200MB
